Air Asia cancels TPE-BKK flight on Tue, Thu, Sat - 2010-04-02, 12:02 

Air Asia has canceled all flights from TPE-BKK on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from May 2010. This route has low occupancy rate, according to news source because most Taiwan passengers are in group or organized tours, and very few independent tourists, budget airlines cater mostly independent travelers. Also Taiwan passengers are still not used to the system and operations of budget airlines and booking directly online.

I saved lots of money before with Air Asia but also lost lots of money as well. I have a booking TPE-BKK in May going Sat coming back Tues, now I am forced to change schedule which I cannot, Air Asia will give back the whole refund, but I will lose out the 3 night promotional package with my hotel Marriott Hotel and Spa, the hotel booking cannot be canceled.

Last year, I am forced to forfeit a 5 people booking from TPE-KL due to my child's high fever, and Air Asia will give me back my airport tax for 5 passengers, but after 6 months, still in the air somewhere.

So you save money with Air Asia, but in case of emergency you will lose money as well because you need to pay a lot to reschedule and you lose all money for no show. Air Asia is still great if you can follow your schedule and hope there is no emergency like getting sick or flight cancellation.
NEWS: I checked again with Air Asia today(Friday, April 2), they said they have restored all flights again on Tues, Thur, Sat in May, only a week before they said these flights are canceled. Is this a April Fool's joke??

But restored flights only in May, but after May still canceled? still a mystery. 
自從前二天見背包開始討論這問題。就不時上去看看有沒有最新消息。截止目前似乎真的從六月初以後有取消，每週二。四。六的台北到曼谷的機票。那些半夜搶訂零元機票的人現在紛紛打電話去更改日期，而且通常都連搶訂的特惠旅館也連帶要改。
這就是搭乘所謂廉價航空需要負擔的風險。好在我們訂的是五月份機票和住宿，好像沒受到影響。昨晚又上亞航訂曼谷到清邁的來回機票：約二千左右。否則我老人家還要搭二等夜車13hr到清邁。真的骨頭都鬆散掉了。
